QazaqKey is a browser extension that transliterates Cyrillic Kazakh text on web pages into an independent Latin alphabet. This page explains what data the extension handles.

All conversion happens locally inside your browser. The extension reads the text of the page you are viewing, replaces it on screen with the transliterated version, and can restore the original. The original and converted text never leave your device: to perform conversion the extension makes no network requests to QazaqKey or any other server.

The extension requests permission to read and modify page content on sites you enable (activeTab and host access) so it can transliterate text, to add a right-click "Convert selection" command (contextMenus), and to remember your per-site on/off toggle and register choice (storage). These are used only to perform the conversion you request.

Your preferences — which sites you have enabled and your default register — are stored locally in the browser and may be synced through your browser account's built-in sync (storage.sync) to your own devices. This is your own preference data; QazaqKey does not collect, receive, or read it.

QazaqKey does not collect personal data, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not sell or share data with third parties. The extension contains no third-party analytics or telemetry code.
