The Turkic world is moving to one Latin alphabet — adopted by the OTS commission, Astana, June 2026.

They differ for a reason: Kazakh's strong vowel harmony lets QazaqKey drop letters and infer vowels — a shortcut the wider family can't take, which is why the shared alphabet carries the fuller set.
The Common Turkic Alphabet is the Turkic Academy's shared standard, adopted by the OTS commission in Astana, June 2026; in Kazakhstan the national rollout is underway. QazaqKey is an independent design, built on how Kazakhs have written Latin for thirty years.
CTA conversion currently approximates a few rare Cyrillic letters (ц, щ, ъ, ь, э, ю, я); refinement in progress.
